“As each one has received a gift, minister it to one another, as good stewards of the manifold grace of God. If anyone speaks, let him speak as the oracles of God. If anyone ministers, let him do it as with the ability which God supplies, that in all things God may be glorified through Jesus Christ, to whom belong the glory and the dominion forever and ever. Amen.” -1 Peter 4: 10-11
Mary Maids & Men is the Cleaning Ministry at the Cathedral of Our Lady. This ministry exists to be good stewards of the facility the Lord has given us by keeping it cleaned and maintained. The cleaning ministry often goes unseen, but there is a great spiritual reward knowing the Lord sees what is being done. Our goal is to be a clear representation of the love of God by the work we put in keeping our Cathedral clean.
At this time, our efforts mainly go to doing a deep clean of the entire Cathedral three times a year during Advent, during Lent and at the end of summer.
Please consider joining our ministry!
The Decorating Committee prepares and adorns the interior space of our beautiful Cathedral throughout the year for the different liturgical seasons and feasts. If you are interested in joining the Decorating Committee, please contact the parish office.
Participating in the Candle Ministry includes replacing the votive candles in the candle stands regularly and cleaning the glass holders and stands as needed. Sanctuary candles are also maintained. If you are interested in joining the candle ministry, please contact the parish office.
Collection Counters assist in counting the weekly collection. Volunteers are open to learning to use a ten key calculator, have attention to detail, and are trustworthy with confidential information. The time commitment is approximately 2 hours per one day a week during normal business hours with a rotating schedule.
For more information or if you are interested, please contact the Business Manager at 218-728-3646.
Do you have an eye for detail and a desire to restore and maintain our Cathedral's metalware to its proper splendor? We are looking for people to add to our ministry that cleans and polishes the brass liturgical items at the Cathedral. This is a wonderful opportunity to participate in worship in a hands on way and on your own time. If you are interested, please call the parish office.
Nursery volunteers at the Cathedral offer childcare to the parents attending a baptism preparation retreat on site. Students and adults are welcome to volunteer.
