Great Lakes Collegium Vocale: Guillame de Machaut's Messe de Nostre Dame

The Great Lakes Collegium Vocale, featuring David Greenberg, Cal Metts, Gunnar Molstad, and Michael Fuchs, will perform Guillaume de Machaut’s (c. 1300-1377) Messe de Nostre Dame. Written over six hundred and fifty years ago, the Messe de Nostre Dame is one of the oldest pieces of sacred vocal music and the earliest known polyphonic setting of the Mass by a single composer. The Messe de Nostre Dame will be performed alongside several pieces of Gregorian chant to form a complete Votive Mass to the Virgin Mary, similar to the context in which it would have originally been heard. This performance is free to the public, but a free will donation will be collected.

Immerse yourself in the enchanting sounds of the season as the College of St. Scholastica Choirs, brass, and string ensembles present their annual O Holy Night concerts . $17 general admission, free admission for students pre-K to college.
